G-DRIVE USB G1 10TB Silver PA
- Hard Drive: 10 TB
Recent we were shooting a movie and over the course of a few months ordered 8 of these from a few different vendors. 2 of them died. They work initially, and one stopped being able to write after 500-700gb (not all at once). The 2nd was a few months later. We filled it to about 3TB and then it refused to mount. Not liking this at all.
Compact 4TB storage. Quality build that melds well with Mac's and other aluminum finish PC's. Reliable Western Digital drive. 3 year warranty. Easily reformatted to FAT32 or NTFS. Fanless for quiet operation and no internal dust buildup. Comes with all cables needed including USB-C to USB 3.0. Somewhat expensive but no other comparable conventional HDD comes close.
So far so good. I backed up a bunch of my photos from my iMac, it took a while but was pretty easy. 2TB Drive was not noisy during back up. I mean, I could hear it but I've had USB Memory sticks louder than this. Also no issues retrieving files. If anything changes I will update.
