- Hard Drive: 2 TB Portable
- Number of USB 2.0 Ports: 1
- Number of USB 3.0 Ports: 1
Pros:Includes ability to encrypt drive with a password - this is the main reason why I chose this drive. This is a must in case you are travelling and the drive gets lost, stolen, or accidentally left somewhere your sensitive files will be safe. The encryption utility is seamless and works very good - you can add/remove/or change the password anytime without affecting the files on the drive, as well as have the drive automatically unlock on certain computers.Pretty good transfer speeds over USB 3.0 - topped out just over 100 MB/sCons:This drive is much thicker than my 1TB Passport drive as well as my 2TB Seagate drive. It seems like they could have made this drive thinner since there are other 2TB drives that are not as thick. The case is a fingerprint magnet.
Strengths:- Plug and play mechanism, optional software is easy to use and useful. PC detected the external HD immediately with no problems whatsoever (using Windows 7 64-bit).- I like WD's "straight to the point" minimalist packaging and design.Weaknesses:- The glossy finish gets easily scratched.Additional comments: New design is slick in comparison to a WD My Passport from 2010, but this is a matter of taste. Anyways, a USB 3.0 cable is included but I did not capture a photograph of it.
Using this for an xbox one is much faster load times than the internal drive.
