User reviews

The drives are quiet and fast. They meet all the needs for a media server!
Have a Drobo and only use these drives. I am a previous Amazon purchaser, but am now a loyalty Wal Mart user.
The WD Red Pro 4TB NAS drives are heavy, robust feeling drives, that weigh probably 30% more than regular desktop drives. They make a bit of noise when the spin up, or when they are writing data, but are otherwise quiet. I'm using two in a software RAID 1 configuration in a PC, and for a few days, they weren't synching properly according to Disk Management. That seems to have been fixed, now, so all's good. Now to see how long they last!
I love the 4tb so far, I ripped out the 4 old 1 TB RE3's from a decade ago when they were dying off, they held up very well over time.I was the revamping the storage system on the old X58 X5680 system and simplified it a bit, might get another in the future, possibly.
WD drives are really good drives. I've been using this model drive for years over the competition because of the better MTBF these drives exhibit.
We will be happy to hear your thoughts
